Keep the part that helps you act

The best short version is not always the one with the fewest words. It is the one that keeps the decision, step, or message you need right now.

If the answer includes background you may want later, ask AI to separate the quick answer from the optional detail instead of deleting everything.

Use a specific shortening prompt

Paste the answer you received, then say how you plan to use the shorter version.

• Shorten this to five bullet points. Keep the most useful actions and remove background information I do not need today: [paste answer].

Common mistake: asking for shorter without a goal

When AI does not know what you need the answer for, it may cut the wrong detail. Say whether you need a text message, a checklist, a meeting note, or a quick decision.
